Fergie👔: Rooney⭐ an All-Time Great🙌

Legendary Manchester United♦ manager Alex Ferguson has claimed that Wayne Rooney⭐ is one of the all-time greats of football, ahead of Rooney's testimonial match against Everton🙌. Rooney was signed✍ by Ferguson from Everton 12 years ago and he is now only 5 goals⚽ shy of becoming United's all-time record goalscorer. Ferguson has not always had the best of relations with Rooney😏, but paid tribute to his talent🙌 - "I always think that great players can play in any era; Bobby Charlton would have been a great player today and Wayne Rooney would have been a great player back then."

He further clarified that Rooney had come to United at 18👶 and went on to and became a first-team player straight away and has now served the club exemplarily for 12 years, which only the best could do👍. Fergie also revealed how United tried to sign him when he was just 14👀 - "We first tried to get Wayne when he was 14, tried again at 16 and we kept interest in him before finally agreeing to get him in 2004."
